Definitely the eye candy central of all things tile and stone in Metro Halifax, Nova Tile & Marble (NTM) has an excellent selection of both manmade and natural materials.
Tile choices include slate, glass and speciality tiles while stone choices include granite, marble, quartz and Caesarstone. In addition to selling a wide variety of materials, NTM makes custom countertops, backsplashes, vanities and fireplaces. The showroom alone is enough to make you want to tile every surface of your home.
While my project was very small, a 48" bathroom vanity, I was treated the same as if I had been ordering a whole kitchen or choosing tiles for a whole house.
I'm sure that NTM is the not the most inexpensive place in town. However, the service and advice was top quality. The staff endured my lack of design and decorating knowledge in a warm and patient manner. They held my hand and walked me through countertop possibilities, all the while indulging my lack of knowledge and indecision without any condescension. Samples were freely provided as was advice regarding wear and tear and cleaning.
Even if your budget doesn't permit buying here, you should certainly stop by for some inspiration.
